The Star Trek Official Starships Collection part 128 features the fantastic die-cast model of the Star trek OV-165 starship, a 21st-century space shuttle with aerospike engines that could reach low Earth orbit.
The OV-165 was a successor to the Space Shuttle, and it was used to reach Earth’s orbit. It took off vertically, but did not need booster rockets to break free of Earth’s atmosphere. Instead, it used it's aerospike engines that could blast it into space; it could then land back on Earth like a conventional airplane
Inside the magazine, find out how illustrator John Eaves came up with a believable design for an immediate successor to NASA’s Space Shuttle for the opening credits of Star Trek: Enterprise, plus how the special effects were put together for ‘Broken Bow’, the pilot episode.
